First of all don’t panic ! Take time for yourself, be patient and don’t rush the recovery because the nerve needs to renew itself, and that can only happen with time. Most people with Bell’s palsy recover fully within 1 to 3 months.
Good nutrition, daily exercises and rest will help your body as it heals itself.
I would like to share my daily schedule below during Bell’s Palsy:
Since I am a developer and I work in front of the computer 8 hours/day, my doctor suggested to take 1 month sick leave because my eye was highly affected.
8:30 – I started each day by applying artificial tears. Remember that the most important thing to do is take care of the affected eye by keeping it from drying out !
9:00 – 9:45 Facial Exercises
10:00 – 12:00 Infusion at Hospital (10 days then 11 days medication)
12:00 – 12:20 Chewing a gum while going home
14:00 – 14:45 Facial Exercises
16:00 – 16:20 Chewing a gum while going to physiotherapy
16:30 – 17:30 Physiotherapy (facial massage + facial exercises)
20:00 – 20:20 Chewing a gum
21:00 – 21:45 Facial Exercises
Sleep at least 8-9 hours !
